Tin & Metal Roof Restorations

Our Tin & Metal Roof Restoration Process

At Rainbird Roof Restorations, we follow a proven restoration system designed to maximise coating adhesion, improve durability, and deliver a long-lasting finish. Every roof is carefully prepared before any paint is applied, ensuring the best possible result for your home.

Step 1 - Roof Debris Removal & Preparation

Before cleaning begins, we thoroughly remove leaves, branches, dirt, and loose debris from the roof surface using specialised blower-vac equipment. This preparation stage prevents contaminants from interfering with the cleaning process and allows us to inspect the roof for any visible issues before restoration begins.

Step 2 - Stormwater Diversion & High-Pressure Cleaning

To protect your water supply and drainage systems, all stormwater outlets are safely diverted before cleaning. We then professionally pressure clean the entire roof to remove dirt, mould, lichen, algae, oxidation, and other surface contaminants that can affect paint adhesion. This process restores the roof surface and prepares it for coating.

Step 3 - Gutter & Valley Cleaning

As debris is washed from the roof during cleaning, gutters and valleys can quickly fill with sediment and organic matter. We thoroughly clean all gutters and roof valleys to ensure water can flow freely and efficiently once the restoration is complete.

Step 4 - Final Rince and Property Clean Up

After cleaning, we rinse down the roof, gutters, walls, windows, and surrounding exterior surfaces. This ensures any remaining residue is removed and leaves your property clean, tidy, and ready for the coating application stage.

Step 5 - 3 Coat Paint System

The roof is finished with our professional 3-coat protection system, consisting of one primer coat and two colour coats. This provides a refreshed appearance, long-lasting protection, and enhanced resistance to Queensland's harsh weather conditions.
